Finding the right painting for that special spot in your home (or that special someone in your life) is no easy task. The overwhelming force of social acceptability greatly influences (or tries to) our aesthetic sense of what we truly find pleasing. External pressures can often eclipse the desires of the heart, precluding us from noticing the artwork that resonates within us. The truth is, the receptivity to what reverberates within the deepest chambers of our soul will only flourish when we can release ourselves from the clutches of others' expectations, and perhaps more importantly, our own expectations of ourselves. If we can do that, you won't have to look for the perfect painting; it'll find you first.
